After the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001, Congress enacted the Patriot’s Act. This law remains classified, and has been used by many in congress and in law enforcement in general to erode civil liberty worldwide in the past twelve years. Rather than being used for what it was intended, like finding and getting rid of terrorists, or more importantly preventing terrorist attacks, the associated Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) has been routinely used in bulk by the government to spy on American citizens. And in the post-911 world, law enforcement everywhere, in general, has used these laws to obtain thousands of secret warrants in the government’s special secret FISA Court to target and prosecute American citizens.
